Job Desciption:

List Recruitment is seeking an experienced E&I Technician for a manufacturing site in Grimsby.  This is a full time, permanent position working 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.  Salary £38K per annum.

Purpose/Key Objective:

To support the operations team by performing necessary repairs; undertaking preventative maintenance activities and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability, quality and productivity are optimised. Providing specialist technical activities associated with the electrical/electronic/computer/instrumentation equipment.

Safety Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements:

• Complies with the Company and statutory requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act section 7 as well as the environment

• Co-operates in ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, colleagues and visitors (e.g. customers, contractors) whilst at work

• Co-operates via communication, consultation and participation in the SHEQ management systems

• Co-operates in protecting resources by minimising energy usage, waste and emissions to benefit the planet.

Principal Accountabilities/Critical Objectives:

• Maintain and repair processing machinery and ancillary equipment in a safe and productive manner in order to maximise availability at optimum cost; to good standards of workmanship and in conformance with all Company standards and procedures

• Contribute to the determination and co-ordination of preventative maintenance programmes to ensure that unplanned downtime is avoided utilising the CMMS

• Assist in the management of resources to ensure all assets are maintained for maximum availability

• Deliver training to apprentices in order that they can understand and complete maintenance activities that facilitate optimum productivity

• Understand, deploy and seek to recommend improvements to production control procedures to support team performance objectives

• Ensure that team operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf by third party service providers, are conducted in manner that fully complies with health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies

• Maintain engineering spares and inventory within engineering budget, via CMMS according to commercial requirements and policy

• Production of task specific risk assessments and safe working procedures (SWP)

• Be actively involved in own personal development plans to maximise performance in the role and the contribution to succession requirements of the business

• Where circumstances require, operate processing machinery and material handling equipment for maintenance purposes in a safe manner and to good standards of workmanship

• Ensures delivered improvements align with to the QMS

• Liaise with Department management to ensure compliance with appropriate business and external standards (ISO9001, 14001, 45001)

• Ensures calibrated equipment is maintained in full compliance with defined systems and procedures

• Knowledgeable in equipment calibration and delivering compliance to the QMS

• Police all facets of maintenance activity within their area and identifying, monitoring & reporting any non-compliance via CMMS

• Liaising with production team through CMMS, reporting systems and email/verbal communication.

Other Accountabilities:

• Working and co-operating with relevant stakeholders to achieve business goals. Including contractor management, and if required, permit control.

• Undertaking Apprenticeship Reviews for site-based Apprentice Engineering Technicians.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

• Industrial electrical and instrumentation experience ideally within relevant industry

• Experience in industrial control systems – i.e., DCS (preferably Delta-V), PLCs, SCADA

• IT skills – Microsoft office software and CMMS software

• BS7671 18th Edition qualified

• NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship trained, preferably qualified to HNC level in an appropriate EC&I engineering subject
