List Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician for a manufacturing site in Grimsby. This is a full time, permanent position working 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday. Salary £38K per annum.
Purpose/Key Objective
To support the operations team by performing necessary repairs; undertaking preventative maintenance activities and facilitating the promotion of engineering solutions for process improvement to ensure process availability, quality and productivity are optimised. Providing specialist technical activities associated with the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
Responding to breakdowns, fault finding and repair of necessary systems
Maintain plant equipment through planned work to ensure safety and availability for production in line with engineering work scope, complying with QMS
Record all work details on the engineering CMMS (Agility)
Maintain engineering spares and inventory to desired levels
Ensure team operations and contractor works are undertaken correctly and safely
Work to continuously improve engineering works and the manufacturing process
Aid in related site project work, from initiation to completion
Deliver training to apprentices and improvers (also being involved in their review process)
Be actively involved in personal development plans
Production of task specific risk assessments and safe working procedures (SWP)
Liaise with operation teams daily through the email, CMMS, MES and verbal communication
Utilise the in-house hazard card system to submit and help resolve hazard issues
Contractor management, and if required, permit control.

Complies with the Company and statutory requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act section 7 as well as the environment
Co-operates in ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, colleagues and visitors (e.g. customers, contractors) whilst at work

Co-operates in protecting resources by minimising energy usage, waste, and emissions to benefit the planet.
Skills
Great fault-finding abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated individual with a continuous improvement mindset
Able to prioritise workload to align with company requirements
Able to understand technical documents such as schematic drawings, equipment details, equipment construction drawings
An open individual, who shares knowledge and works well in team environments
Data analysis using control systems and CMMS
Experience
Industrial mechanical experience in a maintenance/installation role
Relevant industry experience (chemicals, polymer, fibre, oil & gas)
IT literate – with experience of emails, spreadsheets, and CMMS software
A good understanding of safe systems of work.
Experience of multi-skilling in maintenance roles would be beneficial (basic EC&I)
Qualifications
A recognised level 3 technical apprenticeship in mechanical engineering(NVQ/MOET)
Desirable Qualifications
HNC/HND achieved in engineering
Experience of multi-skilling in maintenance roles would be beneficial

Experience working in potentially flammable atmospheres, ideally attained CompEx 01-04
