List Recruitment is seeking a Project Controller for a long term contract role at the Hull office of a global engineering services company.
The primary role of the Project Controller is to provide support to project teams. This involves setting up jobs on the Oracle system, monitoring progress and cost. A strong communicator is required, with advanced organisation and multi-tasking skills. Experience within Project Controls would be beneficial, although applicants with knowledge of projects, finance or document control are welcomed.
Central point of contact for job set up, management and maintenance
Set up project, budgets, key member tables and purchase order agreements in Oracle system
Maintain and manage job number system and process
Central point of contact for employee booking allocations to assign resources to designated projects following instruction from operational team across multiple service lines
Liaising with project managers to ensure project data is complete and kept up to date i.e. key members, project start and end dates etc.
Knowledgeable understanding of the Oracle system and monitor and track functionality issues and who/how to involve in resolving them
Responsible for monitoring incoming purchase orders via mailbox and pass to relevant contract
Monitor the project work approval process in terms of accurate cost code allocation and initial budget set-up and approvals
Monitor cost commitments and expenditures on projects where required
Perform weekly time writing reporting for operational locations and/or contracts
Assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists in the Billing process and any other cost related queries
Produce monthly ad-hoc reports for internal and external use
Suitable experience in a relevant technical or business discipline is essential
2+ years in Project Controls role would be beneficial
Must be able to meet deadlines
Ability to work well in a team and independently
Strong communication skills
Exceptional organisational skills and ability to multi-task
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
Experience of preparing reports and understanding the content in order to communicate potential issues and risk
Awareness of working in a commercial environment and understanding of the importance of adherence to processes, priorities and timelines.
