List Recruitment is seeking an Instrument Design Engineer for a client based in Hull. This is a permanent, full-time role, offering great growth and learning opportunities in a dynamic and high-paced working environment, with a strong team spirit.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will work in the E, C & I design department and have the following responsibilities:
• Technically review and understand engineering requirements.
• Production of Control panel designs, layouts, BoMs, schematics, and assembly instructions.
• Production of Instrument loop drawings, Data Sheets, Process Hook-ups, Layouts and CBD’s, specifying instruments.
• Design of field wiring, cable containment, routing, transits, and production of termination schedules.
• Support inspection and testing of final systems.
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of electrical regulations, technology, and best practice.
• Work with other engineering disciplines and departments such as procurement and planning to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential Educational Requirements
• Time served engineer qualified to ONC/HNC/HND or relevant BTEC/degree.
• Experienced user of CAD software packages (EPLAN/AutoCAD preferred).
• Strong working experience with industrial electrical/Instrument systems.
• Experience designing CE/UKCA marked electrical panels and installations.
• Good understanding of safety circuits and components.
• Familiar with hazardous area installations.
• Relevant design experience incorporating motor control gear into electrical panel design.
• Relevant experience of specifying control instruments, creation of datasheets.
