Job Description

‍

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient execution of all maintenance activities on assigned process equipment, area or project. Responsible for adherence to maintenance and reliability work processes in alignment with asset integrity and reliability strategies.

Drives efficiency in all aspects of maintenance, specifically quality of work as well as ensuring effective maintenance is carried out.

Core Responsibilities

‍

• Drives productivity gains through Phillips 66 resources

• Shares best practices and participates in discipline meetings  

• Successfully diagnose physical cause of failure in conjunction with Reliability Group. Feeds forward continuous improvement ideas/reliability improvements to Discipline Supervisor for consideration

• Ensures PPM& PSSR routines are effectively & timely executed.

• Recognised knowledge centre for peers and operators in maintenance work practices and processes.

• Co-ordinate the repair of major equipment overhauls on Area

• Support operations trouble shooting & Minor maintenance.

• Reviews and suggests improvements to maintenance procedures and drives forward plant changes.  

• Feeds known items into Discipline Supervisor for budget planning / SUT scoping

• Drives QA/QC Documentation Quality

Education Requirements

‍

• Minimum defined technician qualifications

• Demonstrated plant maintenance experience

• Working knowledge of the refinery topography

The Humber Refinery is playing its part of the UK’s decarbonisation efforts.

As a part of the UK Government’s net zero ambition, the Humber Refinery is on a journey to become the Refinery of the Future. With proposed plans for a number of projects including to implement a first-of-a-kind FCC carbon capture project, the Humber Refinery is part of Humber Zero, a world-scale concept to reduce UK industry carbon emissions, saving up to 8 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030 from the Immingham industrial area.

On top of this, the Humber Refinery is the UK’s only refiner producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel at scale. It is also the only European facility producing battery anode coke, which forms a critical component for lithium-ion batteries used in electrical vehicles and in consumer electronics. Our current production of battery anode coke is equivalent to placing 1.3 million EVs on the road every year, and we are developing multiple projects to expand this capability.
