More Than Recruitment: Supporting the Lindsey Transition

August 25, 2026

Earlier this year, List Recruitment was entrusted by Phillips 66 to support the workforce transition at the Lindsey site, following its acquisition of the former Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery.

From February onwards, our team worked closely with Phillips 66 to prepare for the transition, supporting the advertising, recruitment, onboarding and engagement of personnel across a wide range of roles.

It was a significant undertaking and one of the busiest, most challenging and ultimately most rewarding periods we have experienced as a team.

Preparing for a major transition

Workforce transitions on this scale involve much more than simply filling vacancies. There are people behind every role, and periods of significant organisational change inevitably bring questions and uncertainty.

Our priority was to make the recruitment and onboarding process as straightforward as possible for everyone involved, while ensuring Phillips 66 had the people it needed in place ahead of the transition.

Over a relatively short period, our team managed recruitment activity across numerous positions, coordinating applications, interviews, offers, pre-employment checks, onboarding and engagement.

Much of this work was taking place simultaneously and against firm deadlines, requiring close communication between our team, Phillips 66 and the individuals joining the new operation.

Supporting people through change

For many of the people we supported, this wasn't simply a move into another job. They were navigating a significant period of change at a site where many had worked for a considerable time.

That made the personal side of the recruitment process particularly important.

We have always believed that agency recruitment shouldn't feel cold, transactional or impersonal. Being available to answer questions, explain what was happening and provide some continuity throughout the process was just as important to us as completing the necessary recruitment and onboarding.

Over the course of the transition, we got to know many of the people involved well, which has made seeing so many subsequently move into permanent positions with Phillips 66 particularly rewarding.

Continuing our support

While many have now taken the next step into permanent employment with Phillips 66, others continue to work in interim positions through List Recruitment.

For those individuals, our support continues as usual throughout their assignments.

For us, this project has been a great example of what recruitment can look like when a recruitment partner becomes part of the wider team – combining the practical requirements of recruiting and engaging a workforce with the communication and personal support that can make a period of significant change a little easier.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved for their patience, cooperation and support throughout the process.

Congratulations to everyone moving into permanent roles with Phillips 66, and thank you to Phillips 66 for trusting List Recruitment to play a part in such an important transition.
